The Voyageurs were able to end their 7 game losing streak on Friday evening with a huge 9-4 victory on the road over Briercrest.
Brendan Lamb and Leo Keefer each had 2 goals for Portage in the big effort as they notched their 5th and 6th points in the regular season standings.
Other Portage goals on Friday came from Brock Munro, Cody Mapes, Chris Glen, Matt Gray and Taylor Morgan.
Briercrest managed 3 goals of their own in the 2nd period on Friday, it was not enough as the Voyageurs took their first in seven games.
On Saturday the rink was tilted towards the road side of the ice, with Scott Orth giving up 5 goals in a 5-3 loss.
Orth made only 17 saves as the Voyageurs ended the weekend with a loss.
Dan Nadeau, Leo Keefer and Brock Munro had the Voyageur goals.
Weekend Notes:
-With a ton of injuries and several non-health related problems, the Voyageurs were down to only 15 skaters and 4 defenseman on Friday, after 2 injuries in that game, they played with 13 skaters on Saturday
-Ian Hall has been given the green-light from the doc, may play soon
-This upcomming weekend sees the boys from LLB host the top team in the league, the Mount Royal Cougars, the Cougars hold a 20 point lead in the standings over Portage.
