On Friday night on home ice the Voyageurs attempted to keep their strong play going against the Concordia Thunder after a big win over SAIT the weekend previous.
Concordia was ready to play on Friday and opened up the scoring in the first minute on a goal by Andre Herman.
The Voyageurs were down 5-1 heading into the third period but were able to fight back and make it a one goal game thanks to goals by Colin Port, Brendan Lamb, Taylor Morgan and Cody Mapes.
In the final minutes of the 3rd frame, Thunder forward Brendon Macdonald scored to finish off the Voyageurs, Concordia took it 6-4.
On Saturday, In Edmonton, it was much of the same for the Voyageurs on the big ice surface.
Concordia another early lead and were eventual winners 5-2.
Weekend Notes:
- Scott Orth was pulled from Fridays game and did not play Saturday(illness), Evan Kurylo started Saturday in Edmonton.
- Jarvis Ducharme was tossed on Friday after dropping his gloves.
- Voyageurs play in Edmonton Friday, and host NAIT at home on Saturday.
