On the last weekend before the playoffs begin, the Voyageurs thumped Briercrest for a combined score of 10-1 over two games.
Shane Mainprize got the shut-out on Friday night at home in 4-0 win, Colin Port(2), Chris Glen and Brock Munro had the goals in a game that turned out to be rather un-eventful.
On Saturday afternoon the Briercrest squad had a better effort early, but that evaporated quickly with two Voyageur goals from Cody Mapes and Taylor Morgan in the 1st period.
Matt Gray and Chris Glen each had a PP goal in the 2nd.
Gray had another goal in the 3rd period, as did Brendan Lamb, The Voyageurs took it 6-1, Scott Orth's shut-out was broken late in the 3rd on a goal by Luke Robitaille.
The Voyageurs will now head to Edmonton to open the play-offs against Concordia on Friday, Game 2 goes Saturday at 7pm at the Centennial.
Weekend Notes:
- Ian Hall broke his collarbone early Saturday, that is it for his season and likely his career as a Voyageur.
