Our Portage Voyageurs were able to take a 7-3 victory over the Augustana Vikings on Friday night in Camrose, the Voyageurs scored 3 goals in the 1st period to put themselves ahead of the home Vikings.
This weekend was the first time Portage had a full 20-man roster in a few weeks and they made it count.
Cody Mapes had a pair, other Voyageur goals came from, Chris Glen, Brock Munro, Ian Hall, Taylor Morgan and Daryl Gagnon. Scott Orth made 18 saves for the win Friday night.
On Saturday the Voyageurs travelled down to Leduc to play the MacEwan Griffins, a team they will be competing all year with for the final playoff position.
The Griffins got out to an early lead and were able to hold it for the remainder of the matchup, winning 4-3 on home ice.
Daryl Gagnon, Jarvis Ducharme and Taylor Morgan had the tallies for Portage; Scott Orth made 30 saves in a losing effort.
The Voyageurs next home games are Dec 18th and 19th as they host Bottineau for 2 exhibition games.
The next game where points matter on home ice for Portage is January 8th as they host the same MacEwan Griffins.

Greetings from Fresno California! Our son plays for Bottineau and it appears we will be able to listen to the games this coming weekend over the internet. It will be like what I've heard about many years ago, with the family gathered around the radio for Hockey Night in Canada, only we'll be gathered around the computer with some preferred beverages.
